Focusing on continuous development, the AC-1 2K12 series boasts massive upgrades from the 2011 series, which were the first step towards the complete dynamic design, utilising aerodynamics to maximize performance. Developed with a special focus towards slalom racing, the AC-1 2K12 features a perfect symbiosis between mechanical and aerodynamic qualities. With a reworked sail leech, vigorous acceleration and a continuous pledge to power, the new AC-1 will thrust you faster out of gybes and outperform any competition on the reaches.
A clean cut straight leech reduces overall drag and turbulence along the trailing edge of the sail, giving increased stability and balance of the rig at high velocity sailing, with a reduction in material flutter and bounce at the top section of the sail.
The 2K12 series features a large reduction in overall sail weight. This has been obtained through a reduction in double panelling and using lighter materials. A lighter rig allows the board to sit more freely in the water and for the rig to feel agile and swift in its handling.
With the incorporation of newly moulded composite battens, durability, as well as perfect sail body profiling has been achieved. This new batten construction and blend of resin and fibres used give full to the sail from rotation of the sail body to the stabilisation profile along its chord; poised towards use under heavy load whilst generating optimal performance in the sail.
The AC-1 2K12 is history in the making and is ready to take an already great heritage to unknown levels with its promise of precision and drive to succeed. The AC-1 is designed and developed for the rider who will not compromise on anything, or with anyone!
